Undergraduate Admission

NSCAD University offers a range of programs for those wishing to pursue art studies during each of three semesters beginning in September, January and May. Applicants can submit their applications as one of the following applicant types:

  • Foundation/Foundation Transfer - For applicants who are high-school graduates or who have not studied visual arts at the post-secondary level for a full academic year.

  • Advanced Standing - For applicants who have taken at minimum the equivalent of NSCAD's Foundation Program.

  • Advanced Standing Art History (Non-Studio) - For applicants who are interested in completing a Bachelors of Art Major in Art History and have completed one year of Liberal Arts studies at another post-secondary institution.

  • Visiting - For applicants who are enrolled in a degree program from another institution interested in taking courses at NSCAD for credit.

  • Exchange- For students at a partner school who wish to study at NSCAD for a semester.

  • Non-Degree - For audit opportunities and applicants who wish to take courses for credit at NSCAD but who do not wish to study as an undergrdaute student.

  • Pre-University Students - For high school student who would like to take a course at NSCAD for university credit in the summer before they enter Grade 12.
