FOUNTAIN CAMPUS 5163 Duke Street |
ACADEMY CAMPUS 1649 Brunswick Street |
Anchoring the new arts and culture district, the Port Campus (1107 Marginal Road) is a successful brown-field development that incorporates most of the original warehouse structure while housing safe and efficient teaching spaces. Students, artists and the community at large are benefitting from the experience and precision of this modern industrial setting. The uninterrupted view of the harbour from its second floor studios through 172 feet of glass curtain wall is without doubt the best in Halifax. What will I see at the Port Campus? Foundation Studies, Sculpture, Metalworking, Ceramics, Woodworking, Bronze Casting, Mould Making and more! Where can I park? The Halifax Seaport has ample parking. There is a pay and display lot in front of Pier 20 (The Seaport Market), and another in front of Pier 22 and 23. Additionally, there is metered parking along Marginal Road. |
Our Fountain Campus (5163 Duke Street) is housed in the Historic Properties district, adjacent to the scenic boardwalks of Halifax Harbour. The Victorian terrace-style campus – the only one of its kind in North America – is an interconnected row of 19 former merchant shops and warehouses bounded by Hollis and Duke Streets and the cobblestone Granville pedestrian terrace. Full of character and many mysterious nooks and stairwells, the interiors are open, rugged and hospitable, and have adapted well to varied needs. What will I see at the Fountain Campus? Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Screenprinting, Textiles, Fashion, Photography, Design, Letterpress and more! Where can I park? While there is metered street parking along Duke Street, Barrington Street, and Granville Street, parking can be limited. There are two lots nearby, Impark Parking at 1815 Upper Water Street, and Scotia Square parking on Abermarle Street. |
The Academy Campus (1649 Brunswick Street) is a beautiful historic space built in 1878 as a high school. Housing NSCAD’s Film Program, it is the first degree-granting film school east of Montreal. Within the building you will find edit suits, studio space, sound rooms, a screening room, animation facilities, and faculty offices. What will I see at the Academy Campus? Film, Film research Facilities, Multimedia equipment and more! |
